1 Mukhi Rudraksha is itself Lord Shiva and is very rare to find. For the welfare of all beings, Lord Shiva created Rudraksh beads from his eyes in the form of tears. As Lord Shiva is the God of welfare so 1 Mukhi Rudraksha was formed from the first tear that fell from his eyes and that’s why it is considered as the most Divine and the most important Rudraksha in the world. It is found in two shapes – one is round shape and the other is kaju or half moon shape. Out of these only the Nepal Round 1 Mukhi is considered as real and pure Rudraksh.
The term Rudraksha (Rudra i.e. Shiva + aksha i.e. eye) stands for the eyes of Lord Shiva or Rudra implying thereby that it was pleasant to the eyes of Lord Shiva, and hence named in His Honour.
How to wear 1 Mukhi Rudraksha
The mantra to wear 1 Mukhi Rudraksha is “OM HREEM NAMAH” but one can also wear it by chanting Lord Shiva’s Beej Mantra i.e “OM NAMAH SHIVAYA”. After wearing it, the wearer should recite 5 rosaries(mala) of “OM NAMAH SHIVAY” everyday to increase its effects multiple times.

Rudraksh beads are oiled to sharpen their color and to clear them. Oiling a Rudraksha doesn’t change a low quality bead into fine quality.
