This lovely antique Victorian pyrography plaque shows A young black girl picking daisies. Wood burning was one of the crafts that the Victorians enjoyed, and whoever did this one was quite masterful. This medium doesn't leave much room for mistakes and you can see all the lines and cross hatching are very well done. It has a lot of nice details like the daisy border and how the stocking is falling below the knee and the ribbons in the hair and earring. Just a charming piece of antique folk art.
