    Description

    An Antique African Wedding etching print titled in Dutch "De kralen der bruid" ("The Beads of the Bride").  This Dutch etching print dates from 1870 -1878.  It depicts a young Cameroon girl in Kanyenye, Zambia tossing beads to potential young men to be her husband.  This print is taken from the book titled “The Earth and her Nations”.  It is matted in dark gray with a small white boarder and measures approx: 9” x 12” (24 x 30 cm) with the inside print measurement of approx: 6” x 8” (14.5 x 19.5 cm). The paper has Dutch print on the back and is in very good condition with one or two small brown spots and as seen in the pics.  What a great find for the vintage and antique art collector!
