    Description

    This is a custom machined aluminium side by side saddle for Sky Watcher EQ6R pro equatorial mount. This saddle does not tilt the plate when tightened. That reduces pointing cone error. The other photos show the custom saddle on an EQ6R mount and an example configuration. The example configuration shows an Apertura Essentials Losmandy D Style 14" Universal Dovetail Plate (DUP14) in the saddle.
    The design allows shims to be used for minor differences between different mount plates. Only the aluminium parts shown in the first photo are included.
    I sold my EQ6R mount but the buyer didn't need this custom side by side saddle. I'm selling this for far less than it cost because I hope this benefits someone that needs the side by side setup.
    The hub is designed to be snug. That eliminates another possible source of pointing errors. I needed to lightly sand the hub to get the custom saddle to slide on/off of the hub.
