A powerful vintage oil on 1940s wallpaper board painting by a talented unknown African American artist which may also include a depiction of Jean Baptiste Point du Sable measuring approximately 30 5/8 x 14 1/2 inches. Last origin the McKinley Park neighborhood of Chicago. Jean Baptiste Point du Sable is regarded as the first permanent non-Indigenous settler of what would later become Chicago, Illinois, and is recognized as the "Founder of Chicago".
