Vintage 1960's Globe lighter, made of anodized solid aluminum in a magnificent golden finish, Made in Japan. At first sight, you'd never imagine this weighty, shiny globe would morph into a lighter. By a simple pull at the top axis, the top hemisphere slides open revealing the inner compartment. The lighter has a flip top lid and measures 3.9" tall. The lighter can simply be lifted out and easily refilled.
The top of the base is embellished with a mottled, abstract pattern of brilliant and reflective gold-tone shapes. The globe's terrestrial features are rendered in a shiny gold color while the rest is characterized by a soft, silver color with a matte-finish.
The arm on the side of the globe (as well as the tiered pedestal) also bear a shimmering gold-color.
This lovely decorative item is very evocative of the glamorous 1950s when smoking oozed style and sophistication.
